Obama won the election! Yay! I don't have an election-related icon or anything, so I'll just use the brightest, happiest one I have.
Everyone on campus was running around and cheering and hugging each other and stuff. It was awesome. I can still hear cheering from outside even now. I think I'll bake cookies or a cake or something to celebrate. Unfortunately, it's late now, so I'll have to do it tomorrow.
So, yeah, I'm happy, Isaac's happy, everyone I know is happy, and now I'm going to bed (or soon anyway). Goodnight, everyone!
...but I've made such a horrendous, no, horrendously idiotic mistake that I feel I need to put it somewhere. See, I had a midterm exam scheduled for this morning, but for some reason, I had it in my head that it was Sunday, tomorrow. So yeah, obviously, I didn't go.
What the hell is wrong with me?!?! I'm usually so good at remember when things are scheduled, I have never missed an exam before, and now THIS happens?! How could I have been so stupid as to forget the date of my midterm?? And I hardly think "I was an idiot and forgot the date" is a good enough reason for an instructor to give a make-up exam, so I'm screwed.
Damn it, I'm supposed to graduate this December, but of course that's only if I pass the courses I'm taking this semester. I was so scared I was going to screw up somehow, and a big fat ZERO on an exam is certainly one of the best and quickest ways to fuck up your final grade. Self-fulfilling prophecy, fan-freaking-tastic. One more way for me to dissapoint my parents, myself, and the few other people who actually give some sort of crap about me.
For a few months now, I've had a really good 500 GB external hard drive, since I've been downloading more stuff than what will fit on my computer's own drive. Last week, it started acting a bit strange, and today, it finally ceased functioning. When I plug it in, the computer stalls for a few minutes, then finally recognizes that it's plugged in (this used to happen instantaneously). And I can still use the "safely remove hardware" feature to disconnect it safely. However, it refuses to let me get to any of my files. This is about 200 GB of (mostly video) files, all gone. I can only hope that the data recovery service is able to, well, recover my data. If not, I will be very upset (I'm weird in that I tend to get very attached to everything I download).
...is people who drink. And I don't mean those who have a couple of beers at a party or those who have the occassional glass of wine at dinner or anything like that. I mean those people who get piss-ass-fucked-up drunk for no reason whatsoever. The kind who inevitably throw up all their stomach contents, and manage to hit everything EXCEPT the toilet. Yet here I am, stuck in a suite with four people who do just that. And stuck in a room with one of those four. Well, she's leaving at the end of the semester, which is in about half a week. Hopefully my petition for a single room gets accepted, so I can stay in here and lock out those other three and their noxious alcohol/drug fumes.
Haha, haven't posted in like, forever! I really should stop that habit!
So, I've decided to post to say that Tin Man is awesome. Yeah, that's the three episode mini series that aired on the Sci-Fi channel Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. It's a reimagining of The Wizard of Oz, or so they say. The story isn't alike at all, it just has lots of references.
My favorite character is Glitch, the "scarecrow" of this story. He's not a scarecrow though, but a normal human who had valuable information that the bad guys wanted, so they took out half his brain, and now he has a zipper down the middle of his head. He's happy and funny. And he dances, or so he says. Well, he's the kind of character I tend to get attached to, so...I guess I have.^^
As for the others...the "Dorothy" of this story is D.G. I think she's cool, she can actually fight for herself, rather than being helpless. I can't really go into much more about why I like her without giving away big spoilers though, so I won't. The "tinman" is Wyatt Cain. If you think his name sounds like that of a cowboy, well...he is, essentially. He's the obligatory sad past, angsting character. I didn't like him in the first episode (don't really like that type of character), but he got better in the other two. Last but not least, Raw is the "cowardly lion". He's not really a lion, but he's not really a human. But anyway, he can read people's memories and feelings. He's rather simple, but also endearing, in a way.
So anyway, yes, I think everyone should watch it! I'll end my rambling with that, heh.^^
Hehe, just finished reading book one in the Cirque du Freak series (also/originally known as the Saga of Darren Shan). Ordered the next two. It's a good read. There's a vampire, a half-vampire, a snake boy, and a telepathic spider, among other things. I think the main story only starts in book two (out of twelve) though, but I guess I'll see when I get my copy. I love vampires.^^ The series has also spawned a manga (which, as far as I know, is a rare occurance for non-Japanese books), and in 2008, a movie will be coming out. They'll be condensing the first three books into one movie, I hope it ends up okay.
I do like it there, but going back means leaving Isaac here. I don't want to go somewhere without him. I probably sound selfish and childish, but...wah.
What have I ever done to deserve having comments such as "I hate her" and "I will enjoy tormenting her" made in reference to me?
It's the 14th of July! It's my 21st birthday! Yay!^^
